Privacy Policy
The short version: my apps do not collect, store, or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. Everything the apps do happens on your device.
Who this policy covers
This policy is written by Jack Llewellyn-Dare (“I”, “me”) and applies to every iOS app I publish on the Apple App Store under my name, including any app I release in future, unless that app ships with its own separate privacy policy.
Information I do not collect
My apps do not ask for, gather, or transmit personal information. To be specific, they do not collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address
- Account credentials — the apps have no sign-up or login
- Location data of any kind
- Contacts, photos, calendars, health data, or files
- Device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or IP addresses used to profile you
- Usage analytics, event logs, heat maps, or behavioural data
- Payment or financial information
Because I never receive this information, I cannot sell it, share it, rent it, or hand it to anyone else — including advertisers and data brokers. I have never done so and have no plans to.
Information stored on your device
Some apps save small amounts of data locally so they can remember your progress and preferences between sessions. For example, a game may store your high score, and an app may remember settings such as sound being switched on or off.
This data stays on your device. It is never uploaded to me or to any third party. Deleting the app removes it. If your device backs up to iCloud or a computer, that backup is controlled by you and governed by Apple's terms, not by me.
Third-party services
My apps contain no third-party software development kits. There is no Google Analytics, no Firebase, no Meta SDK, no advertising network, no crash-reporting service, and no attribution or A/B testing tool. Nothing in the apps calls out to a server I control.
Apple's role
The apps are distributed through the Apple App Store, and Apple collects its own information as part of running that store — for example download and sales figures, and, if you have opted in on your device, anonymised crash and performance diagnostics.
Where I can see this information it is aggregated statistics that cannot identify you personally. Apple's handling of your data is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy, not by this one. You can turn diagnostic sharing off at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Children's privacy
My apps are suitable for all ages and are safe for children to use. Since no personal information is collected from anyone, none is collected from children either. This means the apps do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), in keeping with COPPA and the UK Children's Code.
Your rights
Data protection law — including the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act — gives you rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and to object to its processing.
I fully respect those rights. In practice there is nothing for me to act on, because I hold no personal data about you. Any data the apps create lives on your own device and is entirely under your control: you can erase it at any time by deleting the app.
Security
The strongest privacy protection is not collecting data in the first place, and that is the approach I have taken. With no servers, no accounts, and no databases holding your information, there is no store of personal data to be lost, leaked, or breached.
Changes to this policy
If an app I release in future needs to handle personal data, I will update this policy before that app ships and change the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be described clearly here. Please check this page from time to time.
